Annmarie

My name is Annmarie! I'm currently a student at VCU, majoring in Kinetic Imaging with a focus on Children's Animation. I love writing stories, making art, reading, and trying new recipes. Professionally, I've worked with children for five years in both group centers and individual households - but being one of eleven children, I've been in the informal business of taking care of kids since I was one! My favorite thing about working with children is watching them learn and grow and knowing that I've been a positive part of that process; it's a joy to see them happy and healthy, and helping them flourish stands as my biggest motivation.

Chante

Hi! I’m Chante and I graduated from Virginia Union University, after studying Psychology and Biology. I aspire to become either a Pediatric Occupational Therapist or a Forensic Psychologist, as well as a Dance Studio Owner. Some of my interests include dancing, listening to music, taking beach trips, going to amusement/theme parks, working out, and cooking/baking! I have been working with children for over 7 years now! I have worked as a dance instructor’s assistant, nanny, teacher at child development centers, and a youth counselor with the YMCA. The things that I enjoy most about working with children are the bonds that are formed, being able to positively impact a child, and being able to become a role model to children. I adore children, and I love that I can gain wisdom and learn from them as well.

Hi, I’m Emily! I’m planning on attending J. Sergeant Reynolds, and will be majoring in General Studies. In my free time I love making art, writing, listening to music, exploring nature, and spending time with my loved ones. Coming from a family of eleven kids I gained a passion for childcare early on- my first experiences were when I was just 6 years old, after I began asking to help take care of my little siblings. Since then I’ve worked as a babysitter, nanny, and teacher’s aide. I love working with children because it’s the most fulfilling thing to be able to watch them learn and grow. Their energies and unique perspectives are always refreshing to me!

Fatima

I am Fatima, a Psychology student at Virginia Commonwealth University. I am a full-time student and researcher and work with the Social Psychology and Neuroscience Lab to run studies on human behavior and genetics. My interests include research, reading, writing, listening to music, watching TV, and spending time outdoors. I also love spending time with children and often volunteer at Safe Harbor’s domestic violence emergency shelters to watch children for clients. I have been watching children since I was 11 years old through summer camps, tutoring, and volunteering. I have worked with kids from 3 months to teenagers and I love spending time with every age group. My favorite part about working with kids is seeing how differently they view the world, and how unique each child is with their personality, wants, and needs. I aim to provide each family with quality care, and make sure the child and parents are left delighted with my services at the end of the day.

Hi! My name is Gillian, and I am a graduate of VCU with a degree in Anthropology with a minor in Criminal Justice. I hope to one day work at a museum, providing cultural and historical accuracy to artifacts, features, and cultures in general. When I’m not studying, you can find me working part time at a local brewery, reading, baking, exploring Richmond, and taking care of my pup nephews! I have been watching children since I was about 12 years old. It started with watching my siblings, and expanded to family friends kids! My favorite thing about working with children is watching them grow and develop right before your eyes! It’s also fun to pick up on their energy and feel like a kid again!
